About The Position

As an Operational Process Analyst Intern within the Operational Services team of the ESD organization, you will play a key role in documenting, analyzing, and enhancing operational workflows. Your work will directly contribute to process clarity, efficiency, and standardization across the team. This internship provides hands‑on experience with operational analysis, workflow mapping, documentation excellence, and continuous‑improvement practices in a large and dynamic corporate environment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university working toward a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field.
  • Rising Junior or Senior status.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to understand and break down complex workflows.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders and gather detailed process information.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency with AI chat‑based tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini) to accelerate analysis, process documentation, and content development.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other documentation tools.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Lucidchart, Microsoft Visio, or similar workflow‑mapping tools (preferred but not required).
  • Basic understanding of process documentation, process mapping, or continuous‑improvement concepts (a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of business process flow maps using Lucid (Lucidchart / Lucidspark).
  • Supporting current‑state process analysis, including conducting time studies, performing process observations, and gathering operational data.
  • Mapping workflows to identify bottlenecks, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Helping develop, update, and improve procedures, job aids, and other end‑user documentation.
  • Collaborating closely with staff processing groups and other stakeholders to capture process details and validate documentation accuracy.
  • Utilizing AI‑enabled tools to generate drafts, accelerate analysis, and improve clarity of documentation and process narrative content.
  • Assisting Operational Services leadership with small improvement initiatives by providing analytical support and process insights.
