About The Position

The Supply Chain Continuous Improvement Lead plays a leading role in identifying, evaluating and implementing Lean/Six Sigma methodology and enables Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives that will: sustain, optimize and constantly enhance Biogen’s supply chain capabilities. The role leads projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business and is a recognized expert in the CI field. Responsible for partnering with Lean Operations Leaders and Business Process Owners to define improvements that have the greatest impact on the business and the customer. Develops strategic deployment planning, establishes transformational vision, sets specific goals and priorities that drive lean principles and concept across the business and link lean initiatives closely to site/functional KPIs pursuing operational excellence. Analyses VSMs (Value Stream Maps) using relevant Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify and drive cross-functional improvement across Plan, Source, Make, Deliver & Enable processes and systems. Quantifies tangible improvement opportunities on targeted product value streams and leads implementations to realize value. Partners closely with the Analytics team and other Continuous Improvement program teams (i.e.: Business Process Management, Biogen Integrated Operating System, Reliability Rooms) to align efforts and priorities with PO&Ts operating strategy. Requirements

  • 10-12 years of experience in supply chain management and operations.
  • 5+ years of end-to-end supply chain process expertise and value stream improvement.
  • Solid understanding of financial processes & performance measures impacting both the P&L and Bala

Responsibilities

  • Establishes an maintains a CI roadmap and vision aligned with Global Supply Chain priorities, ERP roadmap and other CI programs.
  • Drives quantification of improvement opportunities and develops business cases to gain sponsorship and alignment for execution.
  • Leads identification of business transformation initiatives across the value stream partnering with Finance, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and other functions.
  • Quantifies and prioritize opportunities (Lead time reductions, cost reductions, automation efficiencies, technology, etc.) and defines recommendations and plans for tactical execution.
  • Leads for Global Supply Chain functions, implementation of global CI initiatives such as Business Process Management, Standard Operating Model (BIOS) and Metrics among others.
  • Deploys best practice tools for strategy cascade to link execution of GSC priorities with metrics (i.e. X matrix).
  • Facilitates Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping and Root Cause Analysis as needed, in partnership with Business Process Owners to address specific business needs
