About The Position

The Operational Database Administrator (ODBA) is a critical, hands-on role at Singing River Health System. This position is responsible for installing and administering the operational database (ODB) environments, including environment setup and configuration, proactive monitoring, and maintenance. Additionally, the ODBA is tasked with setting up and maintaining SFTP.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Technology Trade School preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • Full Operational Database Administrator (ODBA) (Epic/EMR) certification within 6 months of hire
  • Maintenance of certifications is required to continue in the role
  • Strong Linux skills using the command-line prompt, including navigating directory structures and file manipulation
  • Understanding of operating system concepts such as user and group ownership and file permissions, file system/volume group configuration, etc.
  • Superior customer service skills and professional etiquette
  • Proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.), MS Outlook and Word
  • Ability to demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment and apply appropriate professional skills to a patient population of all ages

Nice To Haves

  • Red hat Linux certified
  • Knowledge of a command shell (Korn, POSIX, Bourne, or C), plus languages and utilities such as awk, sed, and Perl
