About The Position

Under the direction of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Management Team, performs general reception duties, including telephone and visitor reception; performs secretarial functions within the department, including moderate typing, forms processing, data recording, filing, and record retrieval. Provides first point of contact for patient and other customers with clinic. Screens patients for medical necessity and assures accurate charge posting for department services. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School graduate or equivalent. Typing, computer technology, medical terminology are preferred. Minimum of 1 year: secretary, medical assistant, nurse assistant, or physician's office/clinical/hospital preferred. Must type a minimum of 40 wpm. Must possess experience and skill in using computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
