About The Position

Under the direction of the Assistant General Manager, the Operations Systems Manager provides hand-on assistance to staff with installation and integration processes, security issues and program updates. This position provides back end implementation of resort wide point of sale systems, training, technical support and troubleshooting to other staff members. This position makes recommendations to guide future technology needs. Giants Ridge, managed by Guest Services, Inc., is seeking a tech-savvy, solutions-driven Operations Systems Manager to support and strengthen the technology that powers our year-round resort operations. In this hands-on role, you’ll be the primary resource for our operational systems – including property-wide point-of-sale (POS) technology – providing hands-on system implementation, updates, troubleshooting, and daily support. You’ll collaborate with departments to ensure smooth operations, coordinate employee training, maintain documentation and system standards, work with vendors on maintenance needs, and offer insights that guide future technology improvements across the resort. This is a $60,000 - $65,000 salaried position commensurate with experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associates/Technical education or equivalent work experience in IT related field.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good social and presentation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in technology including Microsoft Office application, Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, basic IT diagnostics.
  • Ability to sit at a desk in front of a computer for long periods of time.
  • Ability to travel between worksites.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Reading and writing work-related documents in English.
  • Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of coworkers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by coworkers in English.
  • Constantly communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees.
  • Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 15lbs. occasionally, up to 30 lbs. infrequently.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects.
  • Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform duties.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors computer system operations to ensure that established standards of service are being maintained.
  • Responsible for implementing and auditing point of sale products property wide.
  • Verifies that processing operations are running correctly.
  • Assists in the development of written procedures and checklists of operations systems.
  • Inventories, tracks and requests equipment order supplies; receives and maintains supplies, as assigned.
  • Monitors and implements necessary operations systems updates.
  • Assists in the recovery of lost or corrupted data; acts as the main point of contact during operational problems and provides support, as needed.
  • Works with vendors to perform periodic maintenance of operations systems.
  • Works with vendor support portals and technical representatives to troubleshoot and resolve POS and credit card readers issues, hardware failures, and software defects.
  • Answers employee questions about normal operational procedures and helps resolve common problems.
  • Maintains various records, files and logs related to computer operations systems and assigned activities.
  • Provides recommendations and suggestions for improvement.
  • Coordinates with different department managers to ensure proper training for employees.
  • Collaborates with the Minnesota State Department of Iron Range Resources & Rehabilitation (IRRR) Information Technology team, Guest Services, Inc., and Giants Ridge operations teams, to support ongoing business objectives, operations and improve system reliability.
  • Attends meetings and trainings to maintain current knowledge of related computer operation systems and related software.
  • Maintains accurate and organized ticket documentation through the Giants Ridge’s software ticketing system, including creating, assigning, and tracking tickets to ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Manages and maintains the organization’s tablet system, including configuration, updates, troubleshooting, and seasonal preparation.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Assistant General Manager.
