Operation Manager

PLA Buyer LLCLoveland, CO
$65,000 - $70,000Onsite

About The Position

We are a pallet services company operating embedded within a Walmart Distribution Center, providing a critical supply chain function: sorting, inspecting, and managing pallet inventory to support Walmart's reuse and repair programs. Our team evaluates every pallet that moves through the facility — identifying quality pallets for continued use within Walmart's network and routing damaged pallets for repair and return. Our operation relies on a dedicated team of pallet sorters, forklift operators, and team leads working together in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The Operations Manager is responsible for the full day-to-day management of this pallet sorting operation inside the Walmart DC. This leader will oversee approximately 20 hourly employees — including pallet sorters, forklift operators, and team leads — and serve as the primary point of accountability for production output, safety compliance, quality standards, and workforce performance. The Operations Manager reports directly to the Onsite Regional Manager and is expected to be a visible, hands-on leader on the floor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in operations, warehouse, or production management
  • Experience directly supervising hourly production or warehouse employees required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Business, or related field preferred — equivalent experience considered
  • Prior experience in a pallet management, logistics, or distribution environment strongly preferred
  • Experience working within a third-party vendor or service provider embedded inside a customer's DC or facility a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily pallet sorting operations, ensuring production goals are met and pallets are accurately sorted between reusable and repair categories
  • Monitor pallet flow, staging areas, and outbound shipments to ensure smooth, on-time operations
  • Review production data, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvements to drive performance
  • Supervise and support a team of approximately 20 employees, including pallet sorters, forklift operators, and team leads
  • Build and manage daily staffing plans based on production needs, attendance, and volume fluctuations
  • Train, coach, and develop employees on safety, quality standards, and performance expectations
  • Support timekeeping, performance management, corrective actions, and employee development in partnership with leadership
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and retention efforts
  • Promote and enforce a safety-first culture across all operations
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, PPE requirements, and site-specific safety protocols
  • Conduct safety observations, audits, and incident investigations, and follow through on corrective actions
  • Ensure proper use of PPE, including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, ear protection, and high-visibility gear
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact for Walmart Distribution Center leadership
  • Maintain clear communication regarding production performance, staffing needs, and operational challenges
  • Represent the company professionally within the customer environment
  • Complete and maintain production reports, tracking logs, and workforce documentation accurately and on time
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, HR requirements, and operational procedures
