Demonstrates knowledge of clinical Informatics related to clinical information systems. Responsible for directing and organizing unit/service operations to ensure patient care is delivered in a manner consistent with the philosophy/goals of the institution. The broad scope of the role includes oversight of Surgical Scheduling Department, Surgical Business Office, Pre-Operative phone calls and Surgical Scribe. Responsible for regulatory compliance, personnel management and sustaining a collaborative professional working model. Oversight of perioperative utilization, operational efficiency, performance improvement, systems developement, quality control and assurance. Interdisciplinary and interdepartmental communication and collaboration to ensure surgeon, patient and staff satisfaction. The Surgical Services Clincal Systems Manager works with Perioperative, Labor & Delivery, Endoscopy and Cath Lab leadership teams to achieve and support the goals and objectives of Bridgeport Hospital and YNHHS. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 years performance improvement experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean methodology a plus.
  • Previous experience with supervising projects and/or staff preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to analyze clinical practices and processes related to clinical inofmation systems with solutions to support and enhance multidisciplinary clinical practice.
  • Maintains and assists in system builds and upgrades including testing of clinical software applicatoins in accordance with I.T. methodology
  • Responsible for coordination of surgical scheduling for the Main Operating Room, Surgease, Urology, Labor & Delivery, Endoscopy and elective Cath Lab cases
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Develops and maintains relationships with Information Technology teams, supporting Surgical Services personnel directly or indirectly as it aplies to the software application including other hospitals/organizations as observed by supervisor.
  • Responsible for overseeing the process related to Pre-Operative calling by hospital staff to each patient to ensure proper preparedness for elective surgery
  • Responsible for overseeing charge capture for all perioperative and procedural areas within Main OR, SurgEase, Endoscopy, Hemodialysis and Urology
  • Responsible for daily reconciliation of charges for Urology, Main OR, Surgease, Endoscopy and Hemodialysis
