About The Position

Surgical Institute of Reading is hiring an Operating Room Nurse. At Surgical Institute of Reading, health and care are inseparable, focusing on offering a high quality, service oriented environment for surgical procedures. The facility is accredited by The Joint Commission and has ranked in the top 100 hospitals for total joint replacement for five years and for spine surgery for the last two years. It features five operating rooms and one procedure room, allowing surgeons to perform procedures in specialties such as Anesthesia, Gynecology, Orthopedic, Orthopedic Foot & Ankle, Pain Management, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, General, and Spinal Surgery. The Operating Room Nurse (OR RN) provides nursing care and service during surgery cases, responsible for positioning and prepping the patient, and circulating the case. The role involves hands-on surgical experience, working with a collaborative and professional team, and maintaining high standards of infection control, patient safety, and surgical efficiency. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
  • Active RN license in the state
  • BLS, ACLS, or PALS as required by the center
  • 1+ years of experience working as a Circulator
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
  • Experienced in surgical procedures in the following specialties: Anesthesia, Gynecology, Orthopedic, Orthopedic Foot & Ankle, Pain Management, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, General, and Spinal Surgery

Responsibilities

  • Directly support surgeons and patients
  • Maintain the highest standards of infection control, patient safety, and surgical efficiency
