About The Position

To assist the unit manager in providing operational and clinical leadership in managing of the daily operation of the operating room with transparent and timely communication across the units within Surgical Services; managing real time situations with physicians, patients, families, and staff with the spirit of collaboration and mentoring the team as the constant support resource for the department.

Requirements

Current licensure as RN in Illinois
3 yr experience in specified area
1 yr experience on specific unit
Strong clinical skills
Ability to communicate effectively and work cohesively with a diverse work group.
Utilize critical thinking and timely decision making.
Basic computer knowledge

Ability to take over shift coverage of unit in absence of unit manager.
Ability to transport objects from one location to another.
Ability to recognize needs and behaviors of specific age groups of patients treated.
May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases.

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
Experience as a charge nurse – at least one year
CNOR preferred
