About The Position

The surgical unit features advanced technology, including a robust robotic program, and offers a diverse range of procedures in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, covering specialties such as orthopedics, general surgery, colorectal, urology, gynecology, and cancer care. The hospital is seeking a motivated Operating Room Assistant to join its dynamic team, contributing to outstanding patient care in an innovative, high-energy setting focused on patient comfort and excellence. Operating Room Assistants support the surgical team before, during, and after surgery, assisting with operating room preparation by cleaning, procuring equipment, and opening sterile supplies. They also provide patient transportation and assistance, and support Surgical Techs and Nurses with various assigned duties, working as a member of the surgical team alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, surgical technologists, and other surgical personnel.

Requirements

Requires a High School Diploma/GED
AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers certification required
Requires strict adherence to policies and regulations regarding maintenance of sterile field
Requires physical stamina and proper lifting techniques

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a hospital environment preferred

Responsibilities

Support the surgical team before, during and after surgery
Assist with operating room preparation by cleaning, procuring equipment and opening sterile supplies
