The Operating Room Assistant (ORA) functions as a member of the Perioperative Nursing team, working under the direct supervision of a Perioperative nurse and Team Leader. This role requires specific knowledge, skills, and training to operate effectively within an Operating Room Environment, contributing to the overall mission of enhancing patient care, teaching, and research.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Able to read, understand and write English
  • Successful completion of Hospital Orientation
  • Successful completion of Departmental Orientation and Training

Responsibilities

  • Transporting patients
  • Cleaning ORs
  • Maintaining a clean environment
  • Moving equipment
  • Delivery of specimens
  • Second scrubbing PRN
  • Other duties as assigned
