About The Position

The UAB Immunocompromised host infectious disease ( ICH /ID) program now serves a broad patient population that requires care from ID faculty trained in this field. There has also been a dramatic increase in use of immunosuppressive medications, number of transplants and bridge to transplant therapies, infections with multidrug resistant organisms and use of next generation diagnostics. For these reasons, the ICH /ID Program Director needs new physicians to back-fill open weeks and to expand of this program, including strengthening collaborations with the Comprehensive Transplant Institute ( CTI ), Cardiovascular Institute ( CVI ), and Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Requirements

  • Candidate with a variety of skill sets and outstanding track-record of accomplishments in infectious diseases preferred to complement ongoing division programs in clinical and education.
  • MD candidates must be board certified and must have a medical license with the State of Alabama.

Nice To Haves

  • Subspecialty training in Immunocompromised ID preferred.
