The UAB Immunocompromised host infectious disease ( ICH /ID) program now serves a broad patient population that requires care from ID faculty trained in this field. There has also been a dramatic increase in use of immunosuppressive medications, number of transplants and bridge to transplant therapies, infections with multidrug resistant organisms and use of next generation diagnostics. For these reasons, the ICH /ID Program Director needs new physicians to back-fill open weeks and to expand of this program, including strengthening collaborations with the Comprehensive Transplant Institute ( CTI ), Cardiovascular Institute ( CVI ), and Comprehensive Cancer Center.
