About The Position

The College of Education is seeking a terminally degreed (e.g., PhD or EdD) candidate with at least 5 years of experience as an educator in the PK-12 setting for a faculty position in teacher preparation. This role is set primarily at the International campus location (operations in Eagle Pass, Del Rio, and Uvalde). The successful candidate should have experience teaching in an academic content area (e.g., math, science, ELAR, and/or science), a demonstrable record of success as an educator, a certification (in good standing) in an academic category in the teaching class, and experience working with students with special needs and/or with EB/EL students. Once in appointment, the new faculty member will be responsible for performance in the areas of teaching, research, and service with greater attention being given to teaching and service. Daily functions will include instruction, teacher candidate supervision, and service in efforts to advance the quality and impact of the College of Education’s mission to prepare and equip education candidates for service as teachers and in service to our district partners. Requirements

• Terminally degreed (e.g., PhD or EdD) candidate
• At least 5 years of experience as an educator in the PK-12 setting
• Experience teaching in an academic content area (e.g., math, science, ELAR, and/or science)
• A demonstrable record of success as an educator
• A certification (in good standing) in an academic category in the teaching class
• Experience working with students with special needs and/or with EB/EL students
• Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times

Nice To Haves

• EC-6 certification
• Bilingual/ESL certification
• Certified to work with students served in Special Education
• Experience as an instructional coach
• Experience in writing curriculum
