About The Position

The Department of Radiology at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center is seeking an outstanding individual to join our Cardiothoracic Imaging section. The section is a progressive, enthusiastic, and collaborative group engaged in innovation. Responsibilities encompass clinical service and teaching as well as close collaboration with consulting services in Thoracic Surgery, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Thoracic Oncology, Trauma, Cardiology, and Medical and Surgical Services. Clinical responsibilities include all diagnostic aspects of thoracic imaging including chest radiography, chest and cardiac CT, dual energy CT, and chest and cardiac MRI, but no interventional procedures. The department is developing a Lung Cancer Screening Program to provide a much-needed service to the New Mexico population. Additional opportunities include participation in tumor boards, multidisciplinary conferences and other interdisciplinary activities. Research opportunities include diverse and growing translational imaging and image processing facilities and are supported by dedicated research and publications staff.

Requirements

  • MD, DO, or equivalent
  • Able to obtain state licensure in the state of New Mexico
  • Cardiothoracic imaging fellowship, completed by contract start date, or comparable experience
  • ABR board certified or board eligible in Diagnostic Radiology by contract start date
