About The Position

The Division of Critical Care at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking a Pediatric Intensivist to join the clinical team. Salary and track will be commensurate with training and experience. This full-time position offers a competitive salary, and a rich retirement benefit program. The position includes patient care responsibilities in a state of the art, 20 bed multi-disciplinary Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Other duties include teaching residents and medical students, a pediatric sedation service, and pediatric/neonatal ECMO. The Department of Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care Division have a long tradition of providing outstanding, comprehensive care to the children of New Mexico. New Mexico’s rich cultural and linguistic diversity make it a fascinating and wonderful place to live and work. Situated along the beautiful Sandia Mountains and traversed by the Rio Grande, Albuquerque is New Mexico’s largest city, with a growing population in the greater metropolitan area now exceeding 900,000. Requirements

  • Able to obtain medical licensure(s) in the state of New Mexico.
  • Board certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Critical Care by time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and interest in quality improvement, research and teaching.
  • Experience with ECMO.
  • Experience with care of the pediatric surgical and trauma patient.
  • A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities
