About The Position

The Department of Computer Science in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) invites applications for multiple tenure-system faculty positions at the rank of Associate Professor. Appointment at a tenured Full Professor rank will be considered in exceptional cases, for outstanding applicants. Applicants from all areas of computer science and software engineering are sought. Applicants from interdisciplinary computing areas, including but not limited to quantum computing, robotics, computational neuroscience, intelligent transportation, smart health, systems cybersecurity, and AI+X are also encouraged to apply. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate level courses in the core curriculum and in the research area of the candidate. In addition to teaching, the position requires an active agenda of research and publication, significant external funding, as well as service in the department, school, UT Dallas, and professional communities. The appointment commences for the fall 2026 semester.

Requirements

  • A PhD or equivalent in Computer Science or Software Engineering is required prior to employment.
  • Applicants should have a track record of research productivity and of effectiveness in teaching and mentoring that justifies appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor.
  • Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives.
  • We are seeking candidates able to produce research and scholarly or creative achievements that enhance the program and the discipline, and able to deliver high quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage students from a range of backgrounds and experiences.
  • An earned graduate degree appropriate to the academic discipline and a record of productivity and professional achievement.
  • To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.

  • Teach two or three (2 or 3) classes each academic year.
