About The Position

The Department of Biology at Methodist University is seeking an innovative, motivated individual to fill an open-rank, tenure-track position. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy and Genetics, as well as introductory zoology and general biology for majors and non-majors as needed. There is also an opportunity to develop an upper-level course in your area of specialization. Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in Biology, Zoology, or a related field is required.
  • Previous teaching experience and a passion for delivering high-quality, engaging instruction

  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues within and outside the department
  • Demonstrated potential for university and community service

Responsibilities

  • Teach 12 credits per semester (typically a 3/3 load for laboratory classes)
  • Contribute to curriculum development
  • Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other service activities
  • Maintain a professional development and research agenda
