The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition is seeking a full-time faculty member. Candidates will be at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level of the clinical educator track. Patients are seen at the 250-bed Holtz Children’s Hospital at Jackson Memorial Medical Center and Jackson North Medical Center, the Mailman Center for Child Development, the Batchelor Child Research Institute, the Sussman Family Crohn’s and Colitis Center, as well as community sites in Miami-Dade and Broward. The Pediatric GI Division is fully integrated with the Miami Transplant Institute and the University of Miami’s Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center. The Department of Pediatrics has a large residency program and the GI Division operates a fellowship program. The Pediatric GI Faculty member will have demonstrated both clinical and scholarly expertise and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must be able to work efficiently and independently as part of collaborative groups as well as contribute to the basic, translational, and clinical research program. Requirements

  • MD/DO at the Assistant/Associate/Professor Level
  • Demonstrated proficiency to perform research (clinical/basic/translational) and significant research success.
  • Successful completion of a pediatric GI Fellowship
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the teaching of students and housestaff.
  • Maintaining a valid Medical License in the State of Florida and a valid DEA License
  • Service including committees, leadership ability, and community outreach.
  • Ability to work efficiently and collegially within a diverse environment as part of collaborative groups.
  • Ability to adhere to policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Care of pediatric GI patients referred to the division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Supervising and teaching the fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • On-call duties shared with other members of the division's faculty.
  • Performing basic, translational, and clinical research to develop publications and grant submission.
