About The Position

The Morsani College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Allergy and Immunology, is seeking a full-time Open Rank physician-scientist to expand translational research. A successful candidate will possess an interest in independent and collaborative research within the discipline of Allergy and Immunology (Asthma, Immunotherapy, Food Allergies, etc). Additional academic responsibilities will include advising and mentoring students in the development of scholarly projects; assessing, reviewing, and evaluating student educational activities and progress; and serving on university-wide, medical school, and/or departmental committees. The candidate will complement current areas of faculty expertise and be expected to develop and maintain an externally funded, sustainable program for independent and or collaborative research in the candidate's area of interest. Requirements

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
  • Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
  • For Associate/Full Professor - Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.
  • Board certified (or eligible) in Allergy & Immunology.
  • DEA License.
  • MD +/- PhD Degree
  • Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent required.
  • To perform this position, the candidate will need to obtain and maintain a full un-restricted FL Medical License, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals he/she is assigned to perform clinical duties.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years of physician experience.
  • Previous experience in an academic medical center with a proven track record in teaching.
  • Must be board certified in Internal Medicine
