About The Position

UPMC’s Lakeview Urologic Surgeons is seeking a dedicated OP Nurse Coordinator I to join our busy urologic surgery practice that also provides in-office procedures and chemotherapy intravesical therapy. This role serves as a key clinical leader and patient advocate, coordinating care across the practice while supporting physicians, advanced practice providers, and the multidisciplinary care team. The Nurse Coordinator plays an integral part in patient assessment, triage, education, follow-up care, and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring a seamless and compassionate patient experience. This full-time position will work day shift, Monday through Friday. No holidays, evenings or weekends are required. Eligible candidates may qualify for a $6000 sign-on bonus with a 2 year commitment to UPMC. Title and starting pay rate of this position may vary based on years of experience.

Requirements

The individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and/or interact appropriately to the ages of the patients served by his/her assigned unit as specified below.
They must also demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide the care needs as described in the department policy and procedures.
Minimum 3 years nursing experience
Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in practicing state.
CPR Certification
UPMC approved national certification preferred.
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Registered Nurse (RN)
Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
Act 33 with renewal
Act 34 with renewal
Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.

Triages patient situations and coordinates care with physician.
Assist physician with all aspects of patient care including assessment, evaluation and education.
Provides care for patients in a global, holistic method-responsibility for the patient is viewed in a continual manner, not simply at the time of office/procedural visit.
Accountable for outpatient treatment follow up necessary for patient to maintain health in between outpatient visits.
Serves as primary nursing resource to patient caseload.
Facilitates necessary services outside of the healthcare facility, interacts with homecare and other support services.
