About The Position

The Onsite Maintenance Technician will work in partnership with the Customer, management team, Global Helpdesk, and SIG teams to provide on premises support for AVI-SPL customers at customer site(s) with the end goals of delivering a world-class Customer Service experience. General Responsibilities At a minimum, the AVI-SPL Technician will accomplish the following tasks as part of their responsibilities: • Onsite event & production support • Primary interface to manufacturers, developers, engineers and project managers in support of identifying and implementing resolutions for highly complex system issues. I.e.: client’s POC for onsite AVI-SPL SIG (Systems Integration) projects. • Can provide final testing and commissioning of standard Poly room systems – excluding sophisticated systems such as large conference rooms – can be discussed on case-by-case basis to ensure highest quality of outcome. • Performs preventative maintenance to ensure equipment and room is ready for use. • Responsible for identifying defective/failed equipment and manages issue until completely resolved. • Works in cooperation with client and AVI-SPL support teams and AVI-SPL Help Desk to provide remediation. Additional Responsibilities Tasks and Roles of AV support • Room Sweeps: walk-through of all spaces and test of basic functions • List of test-points to be provided by client, and adapted to, as needed by staff on-site • Records kept of all pass/fail status and tickets created to resolve any problems found • Meeting startup assistance: meet users, upon request, at a conference room or other AV space to ensure that they are able to use the equipment in-room to adjust laptop display settings, deliver adaptors. • In-meeting problems (remote and in-person) • Repair/Troubleshoot (simple: cable replaces, power-cycle, validate components are working) • Cable and adapter replacements to match client standards • Build and maintain an inventory of all AV equipment at assigned locations • Repair/Troubleshoot (more complex troubleshooting: AV component configuration, parts replacement) • Monitor conference room health based on room sweeps and highlight for Nike point-of-contact ongoing failures that may indicate a need for replacement or upgrade. Offer solutions. Items to Consider: AVI-SPL reserves the right to alter work hours and work location as necessary. Work hours may vary based on client requirements and may include travel to various locations in support of the account. This position will generally work on customer sites and may deal with a construction site type of work environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees, customers and colleagues
  • Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner including soldering & crimping connectors
  • Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
  • Intermediate computer knowledge
  • Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video and control
  • Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 – 3 years of audiovisual integration experience
