Property Summary: VillageWalk blends resort-style homes with a unique neighborhood design, creating a new concept for living in Central Florida. A Town Center is connected by bridges and canals leading to lighted walking trails, pools, parks, and sports courts. Indoor amenities include a fitness center with 24-hour access, a library, a card room, and exclusive access to the ballroom that can host parties for up to 160 people. Outdoor amenities include a heated lap pool, heated resort pool, six clay tennis courts, playground, basketball court, and miles of beautifully landscaped paths and trails for running, walking, or biking. Responsible for performing general maintenance of buildings and grounds at HOA residential communities, under direction of the Maintenance Director. Duties include: Responsible for accomplishing a daily routine of general and preventative facilities maintenance and repair tasks to provide environmentally safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient facilities and grounds. Performs related work as directed by management. Such daily responsibilities will be facility cleaning, Minor maintenance and repairs on facilities, structures, equipment, sidewalks, drainage, May operate a wide variety of light equipment and machinery, e.g., an automobile, a pickup truck, a utility vehicle. May utilize a wide variety of manual, gas, and electric powered hand tools, e.g., hammer, shovel, rake, screw drivers, wrenches, digging bar, chainsaw, chemical sprayer, leaf blowers. Position performs a variety of labor-intensive work which may include exposure to difficult working conditions, e.g., extreme heat or cold, fumes, chemicals. Responds to emergency situations to confine, resolve, or prevent injurious or otherwise hazardous conditions, i.e., fallen debris, spills, broken windows, broken locks. Organizes and maintains inventory of maintenance supplies and tools. Plus other work-related tasks as needed The ideal candidate will be organized, efficient, self-motivated, and have the ability to recognize the level of quality acceptable to keep property looking its best with a high attention to detail; exercise good judgment; and will have the ability to communicate with managers, residents, and peers. The candidate must be able to work as part of a team as well as work independently and at times unsupervised, solution-oriented, and professional in appearance, and will have previous experience in a related maintenance field, along with electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance. The Maintenance Technician will also assist with lifestyle and social events, such as set up/take down equipment, clean up after events, and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience with Carpentry, Concrete, Doors, Drywall, Fencing, Plumbing, and Painting required.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must be a proficient problem-solver.
  • Must know how to use tools, supplies, materials, and chemicals in a manner that does not endanger self, other employees, residents, the environment, or the public in general.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Cleaning, Locks, and Gutters is highly desired.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Experience and skills with simple electric maintenance are a plus, but not necessary.
  • Pool maintenance experience is a plus, but not necessary.
