The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges. A site based HR leader role responsible for all people-based activity within our Hayward facility with two manufacturing structures (Ceramic and Metals precision manufacturing in a single site footprint). This fast paced role, balances hands-on operational, tactical and strategic activities. As HR Leader, supported by site a HR Representative, you will partner two site leaders and their management teams. You will deliver a professional HR service for two distinct manufacturing groups totaling 180 employees. Responsible for end to end people lifecycle activities including reward and recognition, hiring, union and employee relations, performance management, engagement, communication and administration. Providing professional HR advice to stakeholders, you will coach our people managers, using your influence to foster an ethical compliant organization. Collaborating with global HR team colleagues, you will support organizational changes and continuous improvement HR projects.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years’ experience as a HR Generalist ideally operating within the Manufacturing industry with multi-site experience preferably in large multinational organization.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience administering employee health, welfare and benefit plans including administering 401 (k) retirement programs.
  • Excellent understanding of US and California Labor law, Trade Union relations and CBA compliance.
  • Sound knowledge of COBRA, ERISA, FMLA and related state and federal regulations required.
  • Strong employee and trade union experience including employee welfare, disciplinary, grievance and negotiation.
  • Excellent communication skills that focus on simplicity and clarity of presentation, both written and oral.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, coach and collaborate with diverse teams in terms of seniority, function and culture, to secure buy in and commitment.
  • Resilience in achieving goals/targets and balancing competing demands.
  • High degree of attention to detail, consistently delivering high standards within fixed timeframes, complaint with our policies.
  • Excellent IT skills, proficient in MS Office and HR software packages such as Applicant Tracking System, Learning Management System, HR Information System
  • Strong analytical, curiosity and problem-solving skills.
  • Capacity to proactively drive business and HR change.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Applicants must be ITAR compliant, either: Citizen of the United States, or Permanent resident alien of the United States, or Protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) as defined by 22CFR120.15
