The Onsite Maintenance Technician will work in partnership with the Customer, management team, Global Helpdesk, and SIG teams to provide on premises support for AVI-SPL customers at customer site(s) with the end goals of delivering a world-class Customer Service experience. Day-To-Day Responsibilities: Responsible for identifying defective or failed equipment and take ownership to resolution Work with client’s support departments and Supplier Account Managers to provide proper resolution options Interface with original equipment manufacturers, developers, engineers, and project managers to provide resolutions for highly complex systems Perform remote troubleshooting for local and regional offices Performs other Audio-Visual related tasks as directed by client Perform maintenance support tasks in a timely and quality conscious manner Basic installation/commissioning of new hardware Perform simple bench repairs Adhere to all asset management guidelines Collaborate with internal/external teams in a professional manner that reflects the values of AVI-SPL Understand and adhere to local safety standards for all site duties Must be flexible to work after hours and weekends when required Items to Consider: AVI-SPL reserves the right to alter work hours and work location as necessary. Work hours may vary based on client requirements and may include travel to various locations in support of the account. This position will generally work on customer sites and may deal with a construction site type of work environment.

Requirements

  • Able to perform routine testing and problem diagnosis for audio visual technologies
  • Understanding of how to operate audio visual equipment as needed
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to effectively communicate and deliver as a part of a team environment
  • Ability to work and think independently and to meet deadlines
  • Cable fault detection and resolution (replacement and/or repair including soldering and crimp termination as required)
  • Faulty device troubleshooting including detection, exchange and RMA processing
  • Firmware upgrading/downgrading
  • Control code upgrading / downgrading and testing
  • Software configurations, including Crestron, DSP, Dante, webcams etc
  • Proactive system checks, including scheduled maintenance and building power up activities
  • Management of assets, including asset tracking, stock movement, and decommissioning
  • Documenting faults and issues in a ticketing system (ServiceNow)
  • Creation of documentation as required, including site how-to’s, monthly reports etc.
  • Manual handling of equipment as required (following industry safe working standards)
  • Basic IT network security & protocols
  • Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standard
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to regularly climb and work from ladders up to heights of 35 feet; lifting equipment, tools and materials.
