About The Position

We are seeking Adjunct Dissertation Mentors for the Applied Apologetics Ph.D. program to guide students through the dissertation research and writing phases, ensuring the production of high-quality, original scholarship that aligns with the university's academic standards. Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ. It is expected that ‎‎‎‎‎‎an adjunct member models a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engage ‎‎‎‎‎‎in an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed ‎‎‎‎‎‎Christian worldview. Adjuncts should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a ‎‎‎‎means to a significant educational ‎‎end. They should strive to employ a variety of techniques for the ‎‎‎‎development of good learning ‎‎conditions, view each student as a unique individual, and insofar as it is ‎‎‎‎possible, provide for individual ‎‎differences, abilities, and interests. ‎

Requirements

  • Candidates must hold a terminal degree (Ph.D. or Th.D.) in one of the following areas: Theology Practical Theology Biblical Theology Systematic Theology Practical Theology Theological Studies Philosophy Apologetics Ethics World Religion(s) Religion Religious Studies Christian Studies Christian Thought Cultural Engagement Public Theology Applied Apologetics
  • Exceptional interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and communication skills
  • Creative, innovative, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Canvas
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to complete assignments timely and accurately with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated strengths in teaching & mentoring at the college level
