About The Position

VCA Midwest Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center is expanding our Medical Oncology Team and seeking a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician! This is a great opportunity for a technician who is passionate about specialty medicine, wants to make a difference in the lives of pets and their families facing cancer diagnoses, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Requirements

Proficient in placing IVCs and monitoring anesthesia
Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
Ability to remain calm and compassionate in emotional or urgent situations

Responsibilities

Assisting with chemotherapy administration and safety protocols
Handling oncology patient intakes, treatments, and follow-up appointments
Providing compassionate support and clear communication to pet parents
Collaborating with the Oncology team and other departments
Obtaining and preparing lab samples (blood, urine, cytology, etc.)
Performing radiographs and monitoring imaging procedures
Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment logs
