About The Position

What You Should Know About the Oncology Clinic RN Role: 8:00 am 5:00 pm, Monday - FridayMay require an adjustment of schedule to accommodate departmental need.This position is based within Jefferson Regional Practice ManagementIn this unique setting, daily interactions with a diverse clientele, including hospital staff, physicians, and visitors, are expected. Job Summary:The Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and their medical conditions, assisting with medical examinations, and prioritizing patient care. Key duties include administering medications, following physician orders, adhering to OSHA and infection control guidelines, and ensuring accurate documentation of patient care. Additionally, the role involves communicating medication orders to pharmacies, providing patient education, and performing other tasks as assigned by the nurse manager or physician to support patient care.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical Diploma in Nursing.
  • Associates Degree in Nursing.
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • BLS required upon hire or prior to patient care.
  • ACLS required within 1 year of hire.
  • Basic Chemotherapy Course Certificate required within 6 months of hire.
  • Adequate verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Basic flexibility to adapt to changes in patient conditions and unit priorities.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • This position is safety sensitive.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • OCN certification preferred.
  • Three to five years of Oncology experience preferred.
  • Minimum of three to five (5) years medical, surgical, critical care, or equivalent experience Preferred.
