About The Position

Located in Largo in the heart of Prince George’s County, our new state-of-the-art regional medical center (UM Capital Region Medical Center) will provide improved access to primary and ambulatory care services, and serve as a tertiary care center for critically ill patients. In addition, our new space will allow us to expand our offerings as a community partner to help improve the health status of Prince George’s County residents. Breast Nurse Practitioners providers will: Full time weekday schedule Occasional call coverage for own patients only over weekend or after hours Experience as an NP is required with a minimum of 2 years’ experience Oncology experience is required Evaluate, assess and manage a wide variety of patients with benign breast disease (such as breast pain, abnormal breast imaging, nipple discharge, high risk lesions), breast cancer, and at high risk of breast cancer due to family history high risk lesions or genetic mutation. Independently provide care in outpatient setting, seeing approximately 10-15 patients per clinic day including new patients and full up care Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to include breast surgeons, general surgeons, medical oncology, radiation oncology as well as compassionate support and ancillary staff. Requirements

  • Master of Science degree with completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner required.
  • Board Certification Nurse Practitioner
  • Two (2) years required proven experience working as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner required.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse required.
  • Current NRP and PALS certifications
  • DEA and CDS eligible.

Nice To Haves

  • Ideal candidate will have background experience in with and treating breast cancer patients and oncology as a nurse practitioner.
