Under the general supervision of the supervisor and in accordance with established policies and procedures and professional guidelines, performs a variety of tasks requiring general knowledge of office procedures and strong customer service skills. Responsible for daily operations and increasing the efficiency and success of the clinical practice. Promptly answers and returns all patient phone calls, addressing the patient’s needs as efficiently as possible. Coordinates with the medical team to ensure surgical requests are scheduled timely and communicated across the service line. With direction from the providers and coordination with surgical facilities, confirm all surgical cases are booked efficiently with all ancillary studies. Coordinate with the medical team to ensure all pre-and post-op records are received and uploaded adequately into the EMR. Serves as the primary administrative contact for patients, facilitating patient needs with the care team. Ensures optimized clinic schedule for providers, including template management, guidelines, and working with the clinical team to ensure patients are scheduled appropriately. Assists the front desk/financial specialist team to obtain any STAT authorizations. Triage and schedule clinic appointments for patients within service standards. Gathers, confirms, and enters demographic and insurance information for all appointments scheduled. Assists with front desk coverage. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Health Hospital.
