About The Position

The On-the-Job Trainer is responsible for training, coaching, and certifying employees in operational tasks, standard work, safety, quality, and productivity expectations. The OJT partners with supervisors, engineering, and HR to maintain training materials, measure competency progress, and continuously improve training methods. Shift - 12a-6a Thur, 6p-6a Fri and Sat, 8p-6a Sun

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • TWI Certification (Protolabs will provided training if needed)
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and teach others in group and one on one settings
  • Ability to interpret and effectively communicate technical work instructions to a culturally diverse workforce.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, both written and oral, and presentation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and complete tasks/projects in accordance with stated deadlines
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment
  • Meets the skill and physical requirements for the job area being trained
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Patience, tolerance, and an understanding that people learn in different ways and at different rates
  • Able to use a computer and calculator
  • Able to proficiently read, write and speak in English, and do basic arithmetic

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years in a training/teaching position in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Methodology
  • Experience with Cornerstone

Responsibilities

  • Working with technical leads and managers, to create and maintain Work Instructions and other training materials as needed to support training efforts.
  • Use Work Instructions and other training materials to instruct employees and show employees how to find relevant work instructions for their areas.
  • Manage training plans: make and update training plans to help employees learn better and achieve company goals.
  • Keep training records: keep accurate records of all training sessions, including who attended and what was taught.
  • Work with leads and supervisors to certify employee’s skill attainment.
  • Adhere to all quality and safety standards within the department.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area with emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and utilization.
  • Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance.
  • Adhere to all company policies and operational procedures.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
