About The Position

Join a team dedicated to improving mental healthcare at the Merced Crisis Residential Unit (Adult Inpatient Program). This role is for an On-Call LVN / LPT within a 24/7 inpatient voluntary program, operating a 16-bed facility for adults aged 18-59. Services provided include rehabilitation/recovery, substance use rehabilitation, pre-vocational or vocational counseling, and medication evaluation and support. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET, etc.) required.
  • One (1) year nursing experience required, preferably treating the mentally ill in an inpatient setting.
  • Valid California LVN or LPT license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in nursing or social science field preferred.
  • One (1) year medication administration experience preferred. (Clinical nursing school rotations may be substituted for a portion of work experience.)

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct nursing care and supervises same provided by all nursing staff on the shift worked.
  • Visually and audibly observes, documents in writing, and reports orally or in writing the physical or mental condition to the Program Manager and the attending physician or nurse practitioner.
  • Orders, prepares, administers, and documents the administration of medication for clients according to physicians’ or nurse practitioners’ orders.
  • Confirms delivery of all ordered medication from pharmacy on shift worked.
  • Responsible for writing a weekly summary on clients as assigned.
  • Monitors and maintains appropriate nursing documentation in the medical record for shift worked.
  • Prepares, presents, and coordinates or supervises a verbal or written change of shift report.
