About The Position

Central City Concern is an innovative nonprofit agency providing comprehensive services to single adults and families in the Portland metro area who are impacted by homelessness, poverty and addictions. We hire people that are skilled and passionate to meet our mission to end homelessness through outcome-based strategies which support personal and community transformation. Central City Concern is hiring for an On Call Eligibility Clerk! Location: Hooper Detoxification Stabilization Center (1535 N Williams. Portland, OR 97227) Schedule: Monday - Friday, Between the hours of 6:45am-4pm Compensation: $23.49/hr On Call employees must work at least once in every 6-month period to remain active on payroll

Requirements

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of one year administrative or customer service experience is required.
  • Must have current CPR certification prior to start.
  • Must have current Adult First Aid Certification prior to start date.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with office machines (fax, photocopier, phone systems) required.
  • Ability to respond quickly and use good judgment in unusual and emergency situations
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and background check. This includes clearance by the DHS Background Check Unit.
  • Must adhere to agency’s non-discrimination policies.
  • Ability to effectively interact with coworkers, clients and children with diverse ethnic and cultural background, religious views, political affiliations, sexual orientation and treat everyone with respect and dignity.
  • The OARs prohibit Substance Use Disorder program staff from having within the previous 3 years a DUI conviction or diversion, a felony conviction, or a conviction under the Uniform Controlled Substances Act.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Admission team during patient triage and admission process.
  • Schedule patients and/or locate patients in Centricity database.
  • Enter patient data into CCC database/chart labels.
  • Prepare admission packets.
  • Provide process and clerical support for Admission team in keeping admissions process moving forward in a timely manner.
  • Provide administrative support duties, phone/fax/referrals/informational/scanning.
  • Monitor status of all patients in the Admissions process, assist team in directing patients.
  • Distribute and facilitate the process of patient Release of Information documents, physician faxes and process RN admission consents.
  • Verify patient identification, create Identification wristbands.
  • Create new charts/locate charts audit chart document order and completion.
  • Maintains positive, respectful, non-confrontational behaviors always, even when observing, receiving, or de-escalating disrespectful or disorderly behaviors using trauma informed and supportive behavior and communication.
  • Attend all mandatory CCC trainings in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security.
  • Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners’ and outside providers’ patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EMR access. This includes immediately reporting any breach of protected health information or personal identification information of any person receiving CCC services by CCC or an outside provider to the CCC Compliance Department, as well as to your supervisor or their designee.
