About The Position

The Banquet server is responsible for the setup, in-event execution, and post event breakdown for catering and banquet functions. Banquet servers are responsible for setting the stage for the guest experience with a welcoming attitude and hospitable service.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a hotel, restaurant, or catering facility of similar caliber preferred.
  • Experience in fast paced, high volume atmosphere.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to read, write & speak fluent English.
  • Flexible schedule is necessary which includes but not limited to days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Position requires regular and reliable attendance.
  • Obtain and maintain position- specific licensing.
  • Ability to obtain & maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Good team spirit.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Must have ServSafe and TABC license
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in related field required
  • Tips and Food Handlers certificates required
  • Ability to stand during entire shift

Responsibilities

  • Guide guests in all phases of their experience throughout the banquet event.
  • Knowledge of service requirements for assigned functions such as: pre-function side work, detailed menu selections, major ingredients, appearance, texture, quality standards, garnish and method of presentation, as well as proper food and beverage service.
  • Greet Guests as they arrive and assist them with seating at the tables.
  • Set up, monitor, refresh and breakdown coffee break, reception and buffet tables for specific functions according to group requirements.
  • Follow sequence of service utilizing all proper procedures standardized by the Banquet Management team.
  • Consistently follow sequence of service utilizing all proper procedures standardized by management.
  • Rotate to other Food & Beverage outlets/venues, as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock of assigned work areas.
  • Anticipate the guests’ needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency.
  • Maintain level of professionalism that will make guest want to return.
  • Provide proper communication and promptly resolve guest issues.
  • Obtain and maintain position-specific licensing.
  • Work as a team, assisting all guests’ needs and inquiries.
  • Ensure all Conrad Nashville core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied.
  • Other duties as assigned e.g. inspect rooms prior to event (pristine condition)
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
