About The Position

The Oilfield Mechanic (Heavy Duty Mechanic) is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of diesel-powered heavy equipment, trailers, hydraulic systems, and oilfield service units. This role includes both shop and field work, operating a service truck to perform mobile repairs, and providing troubleshooting and diagnostic support. Candidates MUST be open to rotational schedule 28/14

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
1–5+ years of verifiable diesel mechanic experience (oilfield preferred)
Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record
Must pass pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Ability to work flexible and irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Candidates MUST be local to Midland/Odessa area
50% travel to local field sites

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair diesel engines (Cat, Detroit, Allison, Cummins)
Perform maintenance on trucks, trailers, hydraulic systems, and emissions systems (DEF/DPF/Tier 4)
Use diagnostic software: SIS, INSIGHT, Allison
Rebuild hydraulic systems and perform field service repairs
Mentor Mechanic 1 and trainee-level team members
Maintain accurate records and documentation
Operate forklifts and telehandlers
Participate in on-call weekend rotation
Work in various outdoor conditions (approx. 75% shop, 25% field)
