WSP currently has a career opportunity for an Oil and Gas Technical Leader to support our nationwide oil and gas well plugging and abandonment program. The chosen candidate can sit out of our Pittsburgh area, or Southern California offices. The full-time technical leader will support the nationwide program to execute both private and publicly funded projects focused on environmental and remediation efforts. This position requires an individual who has a combination of technical, operational, and soft skills, as well as relevant qualifications and experience. Technical skills will include knowledge of oil and gas well design, construction, and completion; understanding of well integrity management systems and risk assessment methods; familiarity with well intervention, remediation, and repair techniques; the ability to plan, execute, and evaluate well abandonment operations. Proficiency in using well integrity and abandonment software and tools will be a plus. Operational skills will include the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams; coordinate with multiple teams; the capacity to work under pressure and handle complex and uncertain situations; the ability to follow procedures and standards while ensuring quality and safety; and the skill to communicate effectively while documenting results and lessons learned.
