Join our Ascend Internship Program in Information Technology and work on projects involving data analytics, networking, cybersecurity, project management and AI. You’ll collaborate with IT professionals to keep OIAA connected, secure, and efficient—while gaining invaluable exposure to airport technology systems and operations. Applications accepted through 4/19/2026 COMPENSATION $22 - $24 hourly This is a part-time position to work no more than 29 hours per week. SUMMARY This position will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience and contribute to various projects within the Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA). This position is designed to receive a comprehensive understanding of our industry and assist in the development of essential skills for a successful career. The incumbent in this class is exposed to a professional work environment and will receive mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • The applicant is currently enrolled or graduated from an accredited United States college, university, or higher education program within 6 months of the application posting date
  • GPA of 2.0 at a minimum with good academic standing
  • The applicant is available from June 15, 2026 - August 21, 2026
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to contribute to the organization’s success
  • Ability to pass all background / reference checks, knowledge examinations, as well as aptitude tests necessary to obtain an OIAA employee badge at ONT

Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting research, gathering data, and analyzing information related to specific projects and initiatives
  • Support team members in day-to-day activities and collaborate on various tasks
  • Contribute creative ideas and suggestions to enhance existing processes and procedures
  • Asist in the preparation and delivery of presentations, reports, and other project-related documents
  • Attend team meetings and provide input on discussions
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to the assigned field
  • Perform administrative tasks such as organizing files, maintaining records, and managing correspondence
  • Take initiative to learn and apply new skills and knowledge relevant to the internship position
