About The Position

Audubon is currently seeking a Offshore Subsea Lead to join our team in our Houston, TX Office. Offshore Subsea Lead will be responsible for leading subsea engineering and offshore execution activities across all project phases, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery. Provides technical leadership, oversees installation and commissioning, and ensures alignment with project objectives, company standards, and client requirements.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of subsea hardware, subsea control systems, flow assurance, and installation methods
  • Strong knowledge of subsea NDT (Non-Destructive Testing), subsea motors/generators, or diving operations
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required (Mechanical, Ocean, Electrical, or related discipline preferred
  • PE License preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience, with significant exposure to subsea system design and offshore execution.
  • Proven experience with subsea production systems, installation, and intervention activities
  • Demonstrated leadership in high-risk, high-cost offshore environments
  • Strong understanding of industry standards (API, ISO, DNV) related to subsea systems
  • Experience working with major operators, subsea contractors, and offshore installation teams
  • Strong problem-solving ability in fast-paced, offshore environments
  • Ability to communicate effectively with offshore crews, engineers, and clients
  • Organized and able to manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities

  • Lead subsea scope across all project phases, from engineering through offshore installation and commissioning
  • Review and guide subsea engineering deliverables, including layouts, installation procedures, and tie-in designs
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications
  • Support resolution of complex technical challenges during both design and offshore execution
  • Oversee subsea system integration across mechanical, electrical, and control disciplines
  • Provide technical authority on subsea architecture selection, equipment specifications, and installation methodologies
  • Drive resolution of complex subsea design and operational issues, including offshore troubleshooting and failure analysis
  • Independently prepare advanced level specifications for project assignments detailing client performance requirements, specific component needs, design requirements, applicable design codes, and vendor drawing requirements
  • Prepare engineering sketches, perform engineering calculations and develop analysis models for moderately complex project assignments
  • Develop internal design guidelines, specifications, and design control procedures
  • Assess feasibility of projects by assessing materials, costs and time requirements, applying knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics. Utilize complex and repetitive calculations
  • Manage client relationships and develop repeat business opportunities
  • Compile discipline-specific man-hour estimates and Total Installed Cost estimates based on client provided project scope
  • Manage and forecast man-hour requirements and schedules associated with discipline-specific project scope
  • Assess challenges and potential risks of planned projects, including construction
  • Influence contract strategy, change management, and claims related to subsea scope
