Our team in Space & Defense is looking for an Offshore Manufacturing Engineer I to join them. You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Blacksburg, Virginia and other supplier sites internationally.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field or technical field OR an associate degree in engineering or technical field with 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing role.
  • Experience with an electro-mechanical or magnetic background is preferred.
  • Must be willing to travel approximately 60% or more of the time internationally.
  • Conversationally bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking clients.
  • Experience in communicating with internal and external customers, coworkers, and other business disciplines.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Familiarity with lean principles and Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

  • Work and maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and be culturally aware to support global operations and effectively collaborate with diverse teams and international clients.
  • Be the support to the Motor/Resolver production lines and Outsource Vendors.
  • Oversee the manufacturing process development with a domestic and international team.
  • Review drawings, order and support manufacturing tooling, work instructions, labor standards, facility layout, quotes and continuous improvement.
  • Review and respond to request for quotes on new orders.
  • Conduct mechanical and electrical manufacturing design reviews and offer improvement suggestions for manufacturability.
  • Enforce and follow policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements as they apply such as ITAR
  • Provide reports to management on daily, weekly and monthly performance to schedules and expenditures create capital requisitions
  • Support technical exchange discussions with suppliers and Moog.
  • Cross-train to help in other areas.
