Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, Engineering, or related field (master’s preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in laboratory and/or field operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory testing methods, field sampling protocols, and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in data management systems and laboratory information management software (LIMS).
- Ability to work in diverse environments, including field sites and laboratory settings.
Responsibilities
- Supervise laboratory activities and field technicians in daily operations.
- Coordinate scheduling of environmental laboratory tests, field sampling, and data collection.
- Ensure proper use, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory and field equipment.
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures for laboratory and field work.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation for audits and reporting.
- Provide guidance on laboratory methodologies, field sampling techniques, and data analysis.
- Troubleshoot technical issues in both laboratory and field settings.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices and new technologies.
- Plan and allocate resources for laboratory and field projects.
- Monitor consumables and inventory of supplies.
- Field inspections in line with ISO14001 standards in order to identify any potential gaps within the system
- Prepare technical reports, summaries, and presentations for management and clients.
- Close monitoring of functionality of water treatment plants and sewage treatment plants on site – and follow up to compliance
- Ensure timely submission of results and findings.
