Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, Engineering, or related field (master’s preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in laboratory and/or field operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory testing methods, field sampling protocols, and safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in data management systems and laboratory information management software (LIMS).
  • Ability to work in diverse environments, including field sites and laboratory settings.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise laboratory activities and field technicians in daily operations.
  • Coordinate scheduling of environmental laboratory tests, field sampling, and data collection.
  • Ensure proper use, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory and field equipment.
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures for laboratory and field work.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation for audits and reporting.
  • Provide guidance on laboratory methodologies, field sampling techniques, and data analysis.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues in both laboratory and field settings.
  • Train and mentor staff on best practices and new technologies.
  • Plan and allocate resources for laboratory and field projects.
  • Monitor consumables and inventory of supplies.
  • Field inspections in line with ISO14001 standards in order to identify any potential gaps within the system
  • Prepare technical reports, summaries, and presentations for management and clients.
  • Close monitoring of functionality of water treatment plants and sewage treatment plants on site – and follow up to compliance
  • Ensure timely submission of results and findings.
