Laboratories Intern
About The Position
We are seeking a motivated and responsible Wonderful Scholar for full time internship. In this position, the intern will be assisting the Plant Tissue Culture Lab in which you will gain hands on professional experience and learn how the department runs. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Responsible for collecting WPR shoot tops in the field, preparing shoot tops in the lab for culture, and actual culture. Assist in maintaining sterile lab environment with dishwashing, lab cleaning, some insect control. Responsible for job shadowing nearby labs. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be a Wonderful Scholar in Sophomore, Junior, or senior year of college.
- Enrolled in accredited graduate or undergraduate degree program with studies focused in Plant Science, Horticulture related field preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-directed and able to work autonomously.
- Energetic and able to tackle new projects and ideas.
- Ability to write and present reports as requested.
- CA Valid Driver’s License.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required.
