Job Description EAG Laboratories is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our SIMS team. The Technician will be responsible for preparing samples and equipment for analyses, including but not limited to, mounting, machining, and polishing techniques. Employees are expected to comply with ISO 27001 standard and company requirements for Information security. This position works with companies that deal with defense-related activities and is subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations). All accepted applicants must be U.S. Persons as defined by ITAR: U.S. Citizen U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder”) Political Asylee or Refugee Work Schedule: Mondays to Fridays: 8:30am-5:30pm This role is located in East Windsor, NJ. Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Basic understanding of chemical safety.
  • Fine manual dexterity.
  • Computer literate, high level of accuracy and detail oriented.
  • Must be able to multi-task and maintain exceptional organizational skills.
  • Require close distance visual acuity with or without correction (Glasses, Contacts, etc.).
  • Ability to operate a keyboard and other lab equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and understandably ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting.
  • Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Ability to continuously operate a personal computer or lab equipment for extended periods of time (4 or more hours).
  • Ability to lift to 10 lbs.
  • Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment.
  • Ability to use a telephone, access file cabinets, receive and ship customer products
  • Ability to sit for periods of time
  • Ability to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting
  • Ability to continuously operate a personal computer for extended periods of time (4 or more hours)

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant experience in performing analytical testing with sophisticated equipment a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Sample preparation - cleaving samples to size, cleaning as needed, and mounting samples for SIMS (Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry) analysis.
  • Operate supporting equipment such as profilometers, microscopes, fine tools (tweezers, scribing tools, etc.).
  • Section, mount and clean test pieces in a consistent manner acceptable for analysis.
  • Use chemical solutions and processes to prepare / clean sample.
  • Review and adhere to customer specifications and requirements, including visual inspection of received materials for condition and correlation with customer description.
  • Handle customer materials and company equipment in a responsible and efficient manner.
  • Protect confidential information and proprietary processes.
