About The Position

The JCC Ranch Camp is not just the Denver JCC’s overnight summer camp, it’s also one of the best places to work during the summer. As a staff member, Ranch Camp will become your home away from home as you work to create a community where people can thrive. You’re a hero to your campers; you have the chance to do something you really care about and have a whole lot of fun doing it. Your experience as a staff member is just as important to us as our campers’ experience. That being said: We’re here to serve kids and make sure they are in the safest environment possible while having the time of their lives. First and foremost, all our supervisory staff act as a team to support cabin staff. The Ranch Camp Office Manager is truly the heartbeat of camp responsible for managing the flow of information and communication that comes through the office.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or 17 and graduated from high school (ideal candidate is 21+)
  • One year experience working in a child care setting or a vested interest in working in a professional child care setting
  • Valid driver’s license
  • One year experience in administrative work
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skill
  • Satisfactorily fulfill requirements for employment at the Staenberg-Loup JCC, including: background screening, three references, documentation, and compliance with CDHS law.
  • Must be high-energy, enthusiastic, creative, and open-minded!

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in a camp environment
  • First Aid and CPR Certifications
  • Experience and familiarity with CampMinder software
  • Completed some college coursework or hold high school diploma (GED) or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Ranch Camp main phone line and email inbox and send messages to the correct team members. The Office Manager is the first person that people talk to when they call or email camp.
  • Coordinate staff and camper arrival and departure logistics and present logistic information to staff as needed (including airport/flights, car, and bus arrivals).
  • Assist supervisory team in preparing for the start of each session by updating bunk binders with bunk notes and other pertinent camper information, creating camper name tags, and setting up for arrival days.
  • Transition from one task to another, quickly and intuitively, while also showing compassion and empathy for campers, counselors, families, and staff.
  • Partner with the director team to organize and send out communication to parents and caregivers in line with established camp communication plan.
  • Manage the organization, sending and delivery of camp mail.
  • Keep the office clean and organized.
  • Help the supervisory team manage supply requests and purchasing and purchasing tracking in line with guidelines from the JCC Business Office.
  • Manage the office during camp office hours and participate in/assist with camp life outside of office hours (evening programs, meals, Shabbat, etc).
  • Coordinate drivers or drive for off campus needs including trips to urgent care as needed.
  • Assist in managing camp budget and receipt tracking.
  • all staff must be able to attend Staff Orientations and be available to live at camp for the summer season.
