About The Position

The Office Manager is a people-focused leadership role responsible for overseeing an accounting-focused administrative team and ensuring high-quality customer service and accurate daily office operations. This position provides coaching, direction, and support to the accounting and administrative staff, ensuring procedures are followed and tasks are completed accurately and on schedule. The Office Manager maintains effective workflows, oversees accounting-related data entry and ticket processing, and works closely with the CFO and plant leadership.

Requirements

  • Associate degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience supervising staff, preferably in an accounting or office operations environment.
  • Strong accounting knowledge and experience working with A/P, A/R, billing, or other transactional accounting tasks
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of initiative.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • TRUX experience a plus.
  • Experience in solid waste or recycling preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of 6–8 accounting and administrative staff, ensuring accurate and timely completion of daily accounting tasks.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and day-to-day support to team members.
  • Manage team schedules and coordinate staffing needs.
  • Lead regular meetings with the Plant Manager and Senior Leaders to identify process improvements, training needs, and workflow enhancements.
  • Serve as a working manager by learning and backing up all accounting and office functions: A/P, A/R, scale operations, customer service, and other administrative tasks.
  • Set up new vendor and customer accounts for payments and miscellaneous charges.
  • Oversee monthly customer reporting and ensure timely transmission.
  • Review accounting checklists and ensure work is completed and returned by managers.
  • Maintain accurate data entry, ticket processing, billing accuracy, and proper control of weight scales.
