About The Position

Join the Terminal Development Improvement Program (TDIP) as an Office Engineer supporting the Terminal 2 (T2) modernization and construction efforts at Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA). In this role, you will provide essential technical and administrative support to the T2 Project Manager and broader project leadership team. You will play a key part in managing the flow of construction documentationincluding submittals, RFIs, project correspondence, and logsensuring that all work complies with project specifications, engineering standards, codes, and LAWA processes. This position requires excellent organizational skills, strong communication, and the ability to work in an active, operational airport environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Airport Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience, preferably working on airport or active operational environment projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction contract processes, design and construction life cycles, and document control procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
  • Experience with Project Management Information Systems; PM Web experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; thorough understanding of industry practices, standards, and regulations.
  • Must be able to work on-site at LAX; this is not a remote position.
  • May be required to work extended hours, nights, or weekends based on project needs.
  • Must be able to pass security requirements to access airport facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Multiple Award Task Order Contracts (MATOC).
  • Optional certifications including AAAE, LEED, PMP, PE, AICP, or other relevant professional credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, log, distribute, track, and maintain all project submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs) within PM Web.
  • Coordinate reviews among design and construction teams, gather comments, obtain approvals, and issue responses to contractors.
  • Ensure project documents and drawings are properly posted, updated, and archived (hard copy and electronic).
  • Maintain organized and detailed construction files, project logs, records, and correspondence.
  • Review daily inspector reports and track field conditions, project issues, and contractor activities.
  • Assist with project meeting support, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and distributing documentation.
  • Create exhibits and presentation materials by manipulating various electronic file formats.
  • Provide technical and administrative information to project stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable codes, specifications, design criteria, and standards.
  • Support construction management tasks such as document tracking, expediting functions, status reports, and other assignments as needed.
  • Help maintain strong working relationships with contractors, designers, and internal/external stakeholders to encourage collaboration and problem solving.
