About The Position

RK&K is hiring an Office Engineer to support transportation and infrastructure projects in the Washington, D.C. area. In this role, you will work under the direction of the Construction Manager to support document control and construction administration activities for an active construction project. Responsibilities include tracking and managing project documentation such as RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, field reports, meeting minutes, and schedule updates. The Office Engineer will coordinate the flow of project information between field staff, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure accurate and complete project records. You will also assist the Construction Manager in monitoring project progress and ensuring contractual documentation requirements are met during all phases of project delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, preferred.
  • In lieu of a degree, relevant experience will be considered
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant office engineering or construction administration experience
  • Experience supporting transportation or public infrastructure projects preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with electronic document management systems. (e.g. Procore, Egnyte) preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with project personnel and management
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, field reports, pay applications, meeting minutes, and schedules
  • Coordinate document flow between project team members, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Maintain logs and records to ensure accurate and complete project documentation
  • Perform quality control checks on documentation practices
  • Support construction managers and resident engineers in tracking progress and preparing reports
  • Coordinate project communications, meetings, and schedules
  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes
  • Perform other duties as assigned by RK&K or the client Project Manager
