Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering,
  • 2-5 years of experience in office engineering, NYCDOT preferred,
  • 5 years of construction inspection experience in bridges or roadway work, NYCDOT preferred
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, and construction management software
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical engineering information to project managers and other stakeholders
  • Assist in the development of project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely and quality delivery of goods and services
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and other project documents
  • Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and identify potential issues
  • Manage and maintain project files, records, and documentation
  • Prepare and submit reports, including progress reports, project status reports, and financial reports
  • Coordinate and track project correspondence, including emails, letters, and faxes
  • Assist in the preparation of project closeout documents and final reports
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Facilitate meetings, including project meetings, progress meetings, and status updates
  • Coordinate, take minutes and write minutes, within three days, of technical, progress and other NYCDOT scheduled minutes
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Communicate project information and updates to team members, management, and clients
  • Manage and maintain project budgets, including tracking expenses and ensuring compliance with budget constraints
  • Assist in the preparation of project invoices and payment requests
  • Coordinate with accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely payment processing
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project activities, including hours worked, materials used, and equipment rented
  • Perform routine calculations and estimates for construction drawings and specifications
  • Verify quantities and review contractor payment applications
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of project procedures and standards
