About The Position

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking an Office / Documentation Engineer in Chicago, IL. Job Details: Responsible for the accurate processing of submittals to ensure the correct products and materials are installed throughout the project. Coordinate Submittals and Requests for Information and reports. Prepare transmittals and draft correspondence for the Resident Engineer. Assist with the preparation of as-built drawings and assemble the project records for close-out. Review all Inspector’s Daily Reports (IRDs) for accurate reporting. Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports to include schedules, costs spreadsheets, and perform analysis. Maintain Accurate Project Records, including organizing project records and documents to allow ease of access for the resident engineer and other project members. Assist the Project Manager and Resident Engineer with the preparation of meeting agendas and prepare minutes of all meetings. Ensure compliance with Project requirements and standards. Assist with the monitoring of project budgets and expenditures and communicate any issues to the project team in a timely manner. Check all quantity calculations of completed work. Verify all material certifications are on file and all material testing has been performed and passed before recommending payment to the contractor for completed work. Assist with preparing and maintaining schedules for the projects. Perform a variety of tasks in support of the engineering staff. Full-time. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field of study and 4 years of experience as an Office/Documentation Engineer, Civil Engineer, Transportation Engineer, Structural Engineer, or related occupation.
  • Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field of study, and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • Position requires experience in the following:
  • IDOT Documentation Certification for Contract Quantities
  • Construction means, methods, materials, equipment, standards, and specifications
  • MOT and detour plans
  • AutoCAD
  • Microstation
  • Change Orders, Extra Work Orders, ATPs, and Pay Estimates within CEPS
  • Reviewing and approving DARs and REDDs
  • E‑Builder
  • Creating E‑ATP, ECO, and E‑EWO documents using the E‑Builder system
