About The Position

The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire an Office Coordinator for the Chester Mental Health Center located in Chester, Illinois to perform a variety of technical office support functions. Serves as primary unit timekeeper. Monitors a variety of daily operations for a living unit. Sorts and delivers mail for the unit.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of secretarial/business college OR completion of high school and two (2) years of related office experience OR two (2) years of independent business experience.
  • Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 30 wpm.
  • Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of technical office support functions.
  • Serves as primary timekeeper for the unit staff.
  • Monitors operational systems for a living unit, such as laundry and clothing services.
  • Sorts and delivers inter-office mail for staff.
  • Answers phones, takes messages, or forwards calls to appropriate sources.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
