The Office Clerk provides front-line customer service to guests, supports daily operations of the visitor center, and ensures visitors receive accurate information regarding river conditions, permits, and recreational activities.

Requirements

  • Basic computer proficiency, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days for Oklahoma residents with an out-of-state license.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls, direct inquiries appropriately, and take accurate messages.
  • Sell private float permits and camping permits to the public.
  • Process transactions using the Payport POS system and handle cash in accordance with established procedures.
  • Greet visitors in a professional and friendly manner; provide information about the Illinois River, campsites, local attractions, and activities.
  • Communicate river conditions, including water levels, and educate guests on safety guidelines, rules, and regulations.
  • Assist with the life jacket loaner program as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked visitor center.
  • Provide general administrative and operational support to staff.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
