The Office of the Public Defender in Baltimore County, Towson, Maryland is seeking applicants who can provide excellent customer service both in person and over the phone. The primary responsibility for this position is to be the point of first contact for clients, families , and members of the court. This position will be assisting attorneys with client communications. Additionally, another primary responsibility of this position is to support the attorneys by downloading discovery, filing and general office duties. Additionally, this position will provide assistance with data entry and other clerical duties. This position will require use of our internal database (eDefender) and use of various judiciary websites (MDEC, Case search, Jportal). Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. This Office Clerk II position is responsible for our reception area. Primary responsibilities for this position include answering phone calls, routing phone calls, distribution of information to external customers, greeting walk-in customers to our reception area. Other clerical duties such as typing, data entry and filing will be secondary responsibilities of this position. Employees in this classification do not supervise.
